I’m currently in my Senior year at the University of New Hampshire, studying Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Computational Mathematics. I’m also a film maker, musician, poet, and in-general use technology to help create and build projects and things which interest me. When I’m not working on homework, you typically can find me reading, lifting, doing fashion projects, or exploring this beautiful planet we get to call home.

What is this website?

This website is a public-facing view of my Zettelkasten which contains all of the knowledge that I’ve accrued and learned over my time at university and in my self-directed studies. The vault is broken down into several main categories:

  1. Capsa: This is the inbox where all new notes go when I first create them. I write atomic notes about what I’ve learned.
  2. Initus: This is where I put reference information from external sources, and I catalogue them based on the person as well as the media type I got it from. There are not my own personal thoughts, but rather serve as reference for my notes.
  3. The Cogitationes contains fully fleshed out personal thoughts/notes,
    and typically brings together multiple atomic notes and input notes at once.
  4. Atomicus contains notes which aren’t exactly Cogitationes or Caspas, and instead of random thoughts/ideas I have throughout the day. There’s also quick summaries of software here.
  5. The Officina contains reports/notes from all the projects I have either done or am currently planning on doing.

Learning Interests

While my degree is in applied mathematics and focuses primarily on computer science, my learning interests are widespread and range from Philosophy and Theology, to Psychology and Sports Medicine. Currently I am reading The Master and His Emissary, The Psychology of Money and The Proof in the Code.

My favorite tools

  • Linux: I prefer Linux over Windows or MacOS primarily because it’s ideal for programming, as well as I enjoy the ability to customize my computer exactly how I want it to be. Personally I use Arch with Niri as my window manager.
  • Neovim: I’m a little weird in that I don’t like bulky IDEs for programming, so I prefer Neovim with my own configuration for programming. Neovim is also ideal because I can hook it into my other tools I use such as zettk-cli.
  • Obsidian: I realistically could just call this a note taking system and my point would still stand, but Obsidian is single-handedly the biggest thing that has changed how I organize my knowledge/life because of the ability to link between notes.
  • Anki: Still the undisputed king of studying techniques. Anki’s spaced repetition flashcards help me study and master concepts. I’ll often use Anki with NotebookLM by generating the flashcards using NotebookLM and loading them into Anki.
